Getting To Better Know Our Awesome Dental Assistant, Crystal
SOMETIMES, WE’RE GUILTY OF ASSUMING TOO MUCH, RIGHT? We recently realized that we’ve probably wrongly assumed that ALL of you—our valued patients—know Crystal as well as we do! That’s probably not the case.
So, We Asked Crystal A Few Questions
We asked Crystal a few questions to help you get to know her a little better. Those questions are found below—along with her candid answers! Enjoy!
Where are you originally from?
“I am originally from Tulsa, but currently I live in Glenpool.”
What made you decide that you wanted to become a dental assistant?
“I originally wanted to be a nurse. I started nursing school, but when it came to giving injections, I just didn’t have the heart to do it. My instructor suggested the dental field, so I switched gears and loved it. I’ve been assisting for 15 years now.”
When you started as a dental assistant was there something funny that happened? Do you dare tell us that story?
“I’m not the most graceful person and on top of that I have a terrible habit of not picking up my feet when I walk. There’s been several times I’ve tripped on the carpet walking with a patient. I shrug it off and make a joke about it, but it’s still embarrassing every time it happens.”
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
“Of course it’s spending time with my 2 amazing children, Courtney and Gavin. When we aren’t doing something pertaining to their activities, school, football, roping, etc. We like to spend time at the lake or around the pool with friends and family. We like going to the movies, running, reading, concerts – we love music! We enjoy going out to dinner but we also enjoy cooking together too. We attend Life Church. Our faith is important and intertwined in our everyday life. There’s rarely a dull moment…just being with them, around them, hearing them laugh makes me happy. ”
What do you enjoy most about being a dental assistant?
“I like the fact that it’s something different everyday. We do many of the same procedures but each patient brings their own personality and specific needs. I like knowing that I have a part in making smiles brighter and in helping our patients become healthier. It can get stressful at times but at the end of the day if we made a difference in just one person’s life…it’s worth it! Last and certainly not least, I love the team I work with. I don’t think I’ve worked with a more caring bunch of people. I’m extremely thankful and consider each of them a true blessing.”
We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Crystal a little better. Here at our practice we feel really fortunate to have her as a member of our awesome team.
